Samsung has announced the new Odyssey OLED G9 ultra-wide 49-inch gaming monitor (model G95SC). The monitor has an aspect ratio of 32:9 and supports a resolution of 5120 × 1440 pixels.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is based on a curved OLED panel with Quantum Dot backlight technology, 1800R curvature radius, 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. The monitor is equipped with a Neo Quantum Processor Pro processor, which is responsible for the operation of its main functions. The Odyssey OLED G9 screen claims a typical brightness of 250 cd/m2, DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA Adaptive Sync.
The monitor is equipped with a built-in Gaming Hub, providing access to popular gaming services Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Game Pass. And thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi module, the monitor can be used without connecting to a PC. The novelty also has smart TV functions that allow you to watch your favorite TV shows through personal streaming services, and is equipped with a voice control function.
The set of external connectors Odyssey OLED G9 includes one each DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and micro-HDMI 2.1. In addition, the monitor received a USB hub with one downstream and one upstream USB connectors. The manufacturer also indicates that the monitor is equipped with two speakers with a power of 5 W each, RGB backlighting and a stand that allows you to change the angle of the screen.
From June 12 to 25, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor will be available for pre-order at Best Buy Western retailer for $2,199. The manufacturer also offers to purchase a monitor through its official online store. By doing so by June 26, the customer will receive a $250 gift card from Samsung.
