After the presentation of the new universal optical disc player Luxman D-07x , the Japanese company announced the appearance in its nomenclature of the first network transport company Luxman NT-07 . The prototype of the novelty was first shown at the Luxman booth at the Tokyo International Audio Show in October 2022, and now it’s time for the official presentation of the serial version of the device.
According to the company, the main goal with the Luxman NT-07 was to expand the choice of ways to listen to music and develop a high-quality digital transport dedicated exclusively to audio playback. The model’s USB output supports PCM digital stream output up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD up to 22.5MHz. Coaxial and optical outputs support PCM output up to 24bit/192kHz. There is also an HDMI input and output for broadcasting high-definition audio.
For integration into a computer network, a gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port is provided. In addition to the USB output port, Luxman NT-07 is equipped with two USB ports for connecting external drives (one on the front panel).
The internal design is also optimized for audio and includes the latest generation of high-speed processor module. The power supply is based on a large toroidal power transformer and high-quality high-capacity electrolytic capacitors.
The Luxman NT-07 transport supports playback of content from UPnP network servers, and also provides access to popular streaming services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify and others. The model is capable of scaling PCM and DSD material, as well as decoding the MQA format. The component is controlled over the network using a proprietary application for mobile gadgets LUXMAN Stream. In addition, it is planned to support the Roon ecosystem in future system software updates.
The front of the Luxman NT-07 has a large OLED display that displays detailed information about the music being played, such as track title, artist name, playing time, and format. Included with the unit is an aluminum remote control that can also control the Luxman SACD player and the volume of the proprietary preamplifier.
